SOS Remote App 5.8 Release Notes

This document summarizes the changes and additions to the Science On a Sphere® (SOS) SOS Remote App for Apple iOS in the version 5.8.x releases.

For detailed information on the SOS Remote App features, please refer to the SOS Remote App Manual.

• iOS 15.4 or later
• SOS 5.7 or later

Before installing the new version, please go to your iPad’s System Settings > SOS Remote section (the place where you configure your SOS computer’s IP address) and write down the IP address just in case it is reset after you update the app.

In this version of the SOS Remote app, we enhanced the user interface (UI) for Live Programs to make it easier to search and browse for Live Programs. As a reminder, Live Programs are carefully crafted presentations that use SOS datasets to tell a story and teach audiences about a specific topic. More info on Live Programs can be found here.

The Live Programs UI has been updated with the following:

• Displaying thumbnails for all Live Programs
• A Live Program Info button that pops up a dialog showing the Live Program description and other auxiliary info for the currently selected Live Program
• Enabled the search bar for Live Programs, with the option to search using Title, Keywords, Descriptions, or Contact (or a combo of those filters)
