SOS Explorer® 1.7 Release Notes

Starting with version 1.5, SOS Explorer® is now available for free to download to your Windows laptop or desktop! For more information on SOS Explorer® and to download the software, please visit the SOS Explorer® homepage.

Requirements

Windows personal computer (laptop or desktop) that is not more than 5-7 years old (as of 2024)
At least 6 GB of disk space (up to 176 GB depending on the datasets that you select during the installation)
At least 8 GB of RAM

Added an exit feedback form that is presented to users when the installer is cancelled.

New Features in SOSx

Favorites: Users can now save preferred datasets by marking them as favorites using the star icon. Favorited datasets are available in the Favorites category within the category dropdown.
Search: Added a search field to quickly find installed datasets by name. Note: Search currently applies only to installed datasets and does not include datasets in the Dataset Manager.

To install these, make sure you open your Dataset Manager and select them after you install the 1.7.0 update.
