SOS Remote App 5.9 Release Notes

This document summarizes the changes and additions to the Science On a Sphere® (SOS) SOS Remote App for iOS in the version 5.9.x releases.

For detailed information on the SOS Remote App features, please refer to the SOS Remote App Manual.

Version 5.9.0

• iOS 18.6 or later
• SOS 5.7 or later

Before installing the new version, please go to iPad Settings > SOS Remote. From this section, write down the values of:

• the Primary IP Address
• the Backup IP Address
• the Default User Position

These settings will be cleared out during the app update and must be re-entered into the app’s Settings tab after the update has completed.

In SOS Remote 5.9.0, all SOS Remote app settings and other information (like IP addresses and version number) have moved from the iPad Settings > SOS Remote section to the SOS Remote app > Settings tab.

Before updating the app, follow the instructions under the Requirements section above. After updating the app, go to the SOS Remote app > Settings tab and re-enter the IP addresses and select the Default User Position.

This update adds support for iOS 18.6 and later. The app will mostly look the same, with only a few minor layout updates.

To comply with Apple’s updated design requirements, the navigation tabs have been moved from the bottom of the app to the top.
