SOS Remote App 5.7 Release Notes

This document summarizes the changes and additions to the Science On a Sphere® (SOS) SOS Remote App for Apple iOS in the version 5.7.x releases.

For detailed information on the SOS Remote App features, please refer to the SOS Remote App Manual.

• iOS 15.4 or later
• SOS 5.5 or later

Before installing the new version, please go to your iPad’s System Settings > SOS Remote section (the place where you configure your SOS computer’s IP address) and write down the IP address just in case it is reset after you update the app.

• The ability to change the speed of Z-Rotation on the fly (i.e., rotation around the north-south pole) using the new Z-Rotation dialog
• The ability to change the frame rate on the fly using the new Speed dialog (please note that if you are changing the frame rate of a dataset with audio, the speed of the audio will not change at this time)
• Display of the current volume level and the ability to reset it in the Volume dialog
• A red badge notification on the Presenter Notes icon (located in the upper left corner of the Presentation tab) to make it easier to know if presenter notes are available for a loaded playlist. This is applicable for both Presentation Playlists and Live Programs. (Just a reminder, in order to see the presenter notes/red badge for Live Programs, you must tap on the “Catalog” button in the top left of the Presentation tab’s interface after loading a Live Program from the Data Catalog tab.)
