Almost as if you were inside the sphere looking out and on top of Mount Everest, the Earth's tallest mountain, this panorama offers a glimpse of the view from the 'top of the world.' In 1989, Australian climber Roderick Mackenzie become the 271st person to reach the summit of Mt. Everest. While up there, he captured a 360 degree panorama of the view from the top.
Chomolungma,"Holy Mother," as it's named in it's native land, reaches a peak of 8,848 meters (29,029 ft) above sea level. It is located in the Himalayas and creates the international border between China and Nepal. Neighboring peaks include Lhotse, Nuptse, and Changtse. This dataset is a good example of the versatility of the sphere.
