Coral Science from Outer Space to Inner Space is a movie produced by NOAA to highlight the International Year of the Reef. Scott, a coral reef scientist for NOAA, explains to viewers many different aspects about the coral reefs from their location to their ecological importance and the many dangers that threaten coral reefs. The corals are shown on both a global scale and a local scale through the use of videos, pictures, and data on the sphere. The accompanying audio narration is just over eight minutes long.
The ICRI International Year of the Reef 2008 (iyor.org) is a worldwide campaign to raise awareness about the value and importance of coral reefs and threats to their sustainability, and to motivate people to take action to protect them. This video was created by NOAA as part of the International Year of the Reef.
