How to fix bluetooth/Wii problems

    The quick way:

  1. Close the SOS software
  2. Open a Terminal window (Applications->Accessories->Terminal) and type: sudo hciconfig reset
  3. Restart the SOS software

If the quick way doesn't work:

  1. Close the SOS software
  2. Unplug the Bluetooth dongle
  3. Plug the Bluetooth dongle back in
  4. Open a Terminal window (Applications->Accessories->Terminal) and type:
    sudo hciconfig reset
    sudo hciconfig hci0 up pscan
    sudo hciconfig hci0 lm master
  5. Restart the SOS software

    Another thing to try:

  1. Reboot the computer (just the nc computer in 5-machine setups)
  2. Restart the SOS software
  3. Try the "Quick Way" if the Wii is still not working

    Last ditch effort:

We have noticed that an updated Ubuntu package was preventing the Wiimotes from working. To fix this, uninstall the bluez package with the following command:

  1. sudo apt-get purge bluez

Restart the SOS software and try again.

You may have to resync the Wiimote after restarting the SOS software: Resync Wiimote
