PLEASE NOTE: As part of the March 2015 Data Catalog reorganization, the SOS team has renamed most of the datasets to new and improved names! To help with the transition to the new names, a reference document with the old and new names of the datasets is available here.
The Science On a Sphere® Data Catalog is comprised of datasets from NOAA, NASA, universities, science centers and other organizations. The datasets are divided into the categories of Atmosphere, Ocean, Land, Astronomy, Models and Simulations, and Extras. The catalog is continually growing, so be sure to check back often. Each dataset entry includes a description of the dataset, a picture, a video, notable features, relevant links, and source information. Welcome to the Science On a Sphere® Data Catalog!
Most of the dataksets in the Science On a Sphere® catalog were created by NOAA and NASA and are freely available for public use. Others have been created by science museums, universities, and other individuals.
The source and credit information for each dataset is listed in the column on the right-hand side of the individual pages for the datasets. Be sure to check the source before using a dataset.
